About
A calmer way to stay close to your teenager
Kindred is a private reflection journal for parents of teenagers. It gives you a quiet, structured place to think about the small moments that shape a relationship — the conversation that went better than you expected, the door that slammed, the thing you wish you had said differently.
Rather than tracking your teenager, Kindred helps you notice your own patterns. You write a short reflection, note which teen it was about and what it centred on — trust and connection, boundaries and independence, communication, or nothing in particular — and rate how connected you felt. Over weeks those entries build into a picture: your connection ratings plotted week by week, the themes you return to most often, and one small thing to try next time.
It is for parents of teenagers aged 13 to 18 who want to be more deliberate about the relationship, and who would rather build insight than keep score. It is not therapy and it is not a monitoring tool. There is no shared feed, no one else reading over your shoulder, and nothing your teenager can see. Every entry belongs to you alone.
Kindred is built by a small independent team of developers and parents. We made it for ourselves first — a way to slow down and pay attention during the years when it matters most.
